At Aset Group Consulting and Counselling, we specialize in support to children and youth with an approach to play therapy, trauma treatment, attachment therapies, and psycho-social assessments.
Children and youth can benefit from specialized intervention and support designed to address their psychological, social, and behavioural needs.
Play therapy is a client-centered approach effective for supporting children, youth and adults to heal, learn to express their emotions and feelings, problem-solve difficulties, and more. Play incorporates expressive arts (i.e. art therapy), music, narrative, storytelling, sand therapy and more. Play therapy is appropriate for children to adults. Play is designed to address difficulties such as: grief/loss, divorce/separation, behaviour difficulties, developmental challenges, and more. Play therapy is conducted by our Certified Play Therapist, and or through supervised practice.
Our therapists are skilled in working specifically with youth population. We understand a range of difficulties that can influence a young person’s experiences, such as homelessness, addictions, self-harm, depression and anxiety mood disorders, and more. We provide a client-centered, goal oriented approach to support youth, and use approaches such as: art therapy, Narrative therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Trauma-informed Practices, and more.
Theraplay and Attachment Therapies
Attachment therapies focus on building secure attachments between caregiver and child. The therapies also focus on strengthening & repairing attachments in disrupted attachments. Attachment therapies are appropriate for babies to teens, teen parents, foster and adoptive parents, parental alienation and separation.
Behavior, Trauma & Emotional-Social Assessments
Children and youth may require specialized assessments and recommendations to provide support where they may struggle in home, community or school. Our assessors observe family relationships, school performance and interactions, and emotional, social and psychological functioning. Once completed, the assessors meet with caregivers and guardians to review recommendations and develop a treatment plan. Assessments can be completed in conjunction with psychological, medical, and psychiatric assessments.
We offer a range of free group programs both online and in-person for children and youth. To learn more about our programs, see our associated website: Ifarada: Centre for Excellence
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness
That most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God…We are all meant to shine, as children do.
We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
