Play therapy is a method of addressing as well as responding to mental health within children. Through play children are able to reveal their feelings and emotions by doing what they know best, play. Through this expanded office it holds the supplies for suitable and effective intervention for children’s mental health.
The room contains various games and activities that will help the child learn more about themselves as well as teach them things such as how to recognize how they are feeling and how to cope with those emotions. The office also holds a sand table which is an effective and powerful therapeutic tool in play therapy. Through sand play children often learn and develop important social skills such as compassion and perspective taking. Lastly, the office has a waiting room on the main level where parents and/ or other guest are able to wait during the session.
